Howie's on the Lake, a family-friendly sports tavern, celebrated 37 years in business in February 2010 under infamous owner Max.  Registered as a historic place of interest by the Portage Lakes Historical Society, Howie's has a rich legacy that dates back to the early 1900s.  While many things have changed through the years, some things remain the same.  Come to Howie's to see why it is a favorite local hangout.

Howie's Cheeseburger

A Howies favorite made from fresh ground beef.  Each quarter* pound burger is then cooked to perfection in a conveyer belt broiler.  Many consider it to be the best burger on the Lakes.

 

Clam Digger

Max's famous drink that will grow hair on your chest. The clam digger is the perfect hangover cure when you have had to much to drink the night before. The drink consists of vodka, clamato juice, horseradish and a few other secret ingredients.
